Travel Information
Getting to Hydra couldn't be easier. A short taxi or E96 bus
ride from Athens International Airport will take you to the main port of
Piraeus, about 45 minutes depending on the traffic. From the port you transfer
to Hydra by flying dolphin or flying cat (hydrofoils) operated by Hellas, which
you can book in advance from www.dolphins.gr
or by catamaran, which you can also book in advance from www.Euroseas.com
who offer particularly good discounts. Either option will take about 1.5 hours.
Alternatively you can take a ferry which takes about 3.5 hours and gives you the
opportunity to look at the Peloponnese coast line and the many little islands
you pass on the way from the decks. For more travel information and further
details about Hydra we recommend you visit www.HydraDirect.com.
How to find us on Hydra
Once you're on Hydra, you can easily walk to the Alkionides
Pension from the harbour but if you have heavy bags you might want to hire the
services of a donkey to carry your luggage. The donkey men will meet you at the
disembarkation area.
